Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon

He graduated as a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Malta in 2006. In 2008 he commenced his specialisation in ophthalmology, and in 2009 moved to the UK to further his postgraduate studies and train as a surgeon in this field. In 2014 he was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in London, after which he completed intensive subspecialist training in advanced vitreoretinal surgery. In 2016 he was appointed as a full-time consultant ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon in the UK NHS. In 2017, after 8 years abroad he returned to Malta to fulfil the need for a vitreoretinal specialist locally. He was appointed consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Mater Dei Hospital where he practices to this day and trains future ophthalmic surgeons. He is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta where he teaches the next generation of doctors.
